Acer pal. Dissectum

Acer pal. Dissectum

With its finely cut, lace-like foliage and graceful, cascading habit, Acer palmatum Dissectum Group is a compact, slow-growing Japanese maple valued for elegant structure and dependable autumn colour. Ideal for small gardens and containers in Ireland, it forms a low, dome-shaped canopy that provides delicate texture through the growing season, then drops its leaves in winter. Plant in a sheltered position with dappled or light shade; use a moisture-retentive but well-drained, humus-rich, slightly acidic soil, and mulch to keep roots cool and evenly moist. Protect from drying winds and strong midday sun to maintain the best foliage quality.

To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
