Ilex crenata Dark Green 90-100 SPIRAL C18

Ilex crenata Dark Green 90-100 SPIRAL C18

Ilex crenata 'Dark Green' is a compact, evergreen Japanese holly with tiny, dark green leaves and a naturally dense habit that clips beautifully into formal shapes—here presented as an elegant spiral topiary. It thrives in full sun or light shade in moist but well-drained, preferably acidic soil (avoid chalky, alkaline sites). Slow-growing and well-suited to containers, entrances and formal designs, it offers year-round structure and a boxwood-like look. Small, inconspicuous white flowers may appear in late spring.

To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
