Ilex crenata Dark Green 25 CM BALL C5

Ilex crenata Dark Green 25 CM BALL C5

Ilex crenata 'Dark Green' is a compact, evergreen Japanese holly with tiny, glossy green leaves and a naturally dense habit, ideal for precise clipping. Supplied here as a neatly clipped 25 cm ball, it makes an elegant, low-maintenance topiary for containers, entrances and formal borders, or for creating matching pairs. Slow-growing and easy to shape, it performs best in full sun or light shade, in moist, fertile, humus-rich, preferably acidic soil; avoid chalky conditions. In late spring to early summer it bears small white flowers; on female plants these may be followed by small black berries if a suitable pollinator is nearby.

To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
