Ribes sang. King Edward VII

Ribes sanguineum ‘King Edward VII’ is a fast-growing, deciduous flowering currant valued for its dense clusters of deep red spring blooms that appear before many shrubs come into leaf, offering early colour and nectar for pollinators. Reliable and easy to grow in Ireland, it thrives in sun or light shade and in moderately fertile, moist but well-drained soil; ideal for mixed shrub borders or as an informal screen, and simply pruned after flowering to keep a bushy shape.
