Perovskia atriplicif. 'Blue Spire' C3.5

Perovskia atriplicif. 'Blue Spire' C3.5

Perovskia ‘Blue Spire’ is an upright, woody-based perennial shrub valued for its finely divided, aromatic foliage and abundant violet-blue flower spikes that carry colour from late summer into autumn. It thrives in full sun and well-drained, moderately fertile soil, suiting dry, gravel or Mediterranean-style borders and bringing airy texture and long-season interest in Irish gardens. Fully hardy and reliable, it reaches about 1.2m tall and 1m wide in time, and is excellent for attracting pollinating insects.

To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
