Cytisus 'Lena' 40-60 cm.

Cytisus 'Lena' 40-60 cm.

Cytisus ‘Lena’ is a compact, fast-growing deciduous broom valued for its profusion of warm, bicolour pea-flowers in late spring, typically red with yellow tones. Forming a low, bushy mound with slender green shoots, it thrives in full sun and very well-drained, poor to moderately fertile, preferably sandy soils, and dislikes chalk or heavy clay. Ideal for sunny, free-draining borders or gravel gardens in Ireland, it generally reaches about 1m in height and spread. Lightly trim immediately after flowering to maintain shape, avoiding hard pruning into old wood.

To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
