Ceanothus thyrsiflorus Tuxedo P29 (10 Ltr)

Ceanothus thyrsiflorus ‘Tuxedo’ is a striking, evergreen California lilac prized for its near-black, purple-toned foliage and dense clusters of deep blue flowers in late spring to early summer. Best in full sun and a warm, sheltered spot with well-drained, moderately fertile soil (tolerates chalk), it forms a bushy, upright wall-shrub that brings architectural contrast to borders and looks superb against a sunny wall or fence. Fast-growing and drought-tolerant once established, it’s also valuable for bees and other pollinators. Expect around 2–3 m over time; prune lightly after flowering to maintain shape and encourage new growth.

Position Position: Full sun (sheltered)
Growth Rate of Growth: Fast-growing
Soil Soil: Well-drained, moderately fertile; tolerates chalk
Hardiness Hardiness: Hardy in most of the UK (H4)
