Betula Jacquemontii

Betula Jacquemontii

Betula utilis var. jacquemontii is a graceful deciduous tree prized for its striking, gleaming white bark that provides year-round structure and standout winter interest. Fresh green foliage forms a light, airy canopy through spring and summer, colouring yellow in autumn, with slender catkins appearing in spring. Reliable and fully hardy in Ireland, it thrives in full sun to light shade on moist but well-drained, moderately fertile soils, and is superb as a specimen or planted in groups to emphasise its brilliant bark.

To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
