Acorus graminus Ogon

Acorus graminus Ogon

A compact, semi-evergreen, grass-like perennial for damp ground and pond margins, Acorus graminus ‘Ogon’ forms neat, slowly spreading clumps of bright yellow, green-striped variegated leaves that provide luminous colour and fine texture through much of the year. It thrives in consistently moist to wet, humus-rich, neutral to acidic soils, growing well in full sun or partial shade, and is ideal for bog gardens, the edges of ponds and streams, or for softening paths and borders. In summer it may produce small, greenish, inconspicuous flowers among the foliage; overall it is a low-maintenance choice for wetter spots.

To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
