Rhododendron hybride mix P17

Rhododendron hybride mix P17

Rhododendron hybrids are reliable evergreen shrubs prized for their spring displays of showy, bell to funnel-shaped blooms (flower colour varies by cultivar). They thrive in Ireland in cool, humid conditions with acidic, humus-rich, moisture-retentive but well-drained soil, in dappled or light shade and with shelter from cold, drying winds. Plant shallowly, keep the root zone mulched with leafmould or pine needles, and water during dry spells; avoid lime and chalk. Ideal for woodland-style borders and shaded shrub plantings where consistent soil moisture can be maintained.

To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
