Prunus Tai Haku

Prunus Tai Haku

Prunus 'Tai-haku', the Great White Cherry, is a magnificent medium-sized deciduous cherry renowned for its huge, pure white single blossoms in April, which cloak the branches before or as the leaves unfold for a dramatic spring display. Foliage matures to green through the season and typically develops good autumn colour. Best planted in full sun and fertile, moist but well-drained soil, it copes with most soil types including chalk. Fully hardy and ideal as a specimen for lawns or mixed borders, forming a broad, spreading crown that can reach around 8m tall and wide over time (20–50 years).

To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
