PITTOSPORUM tenui. Golf Ball Ball

PITTOSPORUM tenui. Golf Ball Ball

Pittosporum tenuifolium ‘Golf Ball’ is a compact, naturally rounded evergreen shrub forming a neat, dense dome of small green leaves, ideal for low-maintenance structure in borders, low hedging or clipped shapes. In Irish gardens it thrives in sun or light shade in fertile, moist but well-drained soil, and is best in a sheltered position away from cold, drying winds. Small, dark-purple, evening-scented flowers may appear in late spring to early summer, though they are discreet; the plant’s main appeal is its tidy form and fresh green foliage. Expect an eventual mound of around 1m high and wide over time with a slow, steady growth habit.

To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
