OSMANTHUS x burkwoodii

Osmanthus × burkwoodii is a dense, slow-growing evergreen shrub valued for its neat, rounded habit and small, glossy dark-green leaves that may show a few spiny teeth when young. In spring, it carries clusters of highly fragrant white flowers, making it an excellent choice for positioning near entrances or paths where the scent can be enjoyed. Well-suited to Irish gardens, it thrives in sun or light shade and in well-drained, moderately fertile soils; it also makes a reliable, low-maintenance evergreen hedge or standalone specimen.

To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
