Lavandula angustifolia ‘Hidcote’ is a compact, evergreen English lavender prized for its intensely fragrant purple flower spikes in mid to late summer and aromatic foliage. Ideal for sunny, well-drained borders, gravel and herb gardens, low hedging or edging, and containers, it forms a bushy mound around 30–60cm tall and wide. Plant in full sun on light, free-draining, preferably chalky or sandy soil; once established it tolerates dry conditions and is attractive to bees and other pollinators. Trim lightly after flowering to maintain a neat shape.
