Eriostemon myoporoides

Eriostemon myoporoides is an evergreen shrub grown for its neat green foliage and masses of starry white flowers in spring. Best suited to a very sheltered position or container culture under protection in Ireland, it prefers a well-drained, moderately fertile, acidic soil and a spot in sun or light shade. In mild, frost-free conditions it forms a graceful, bushy plant that rewards with a refined display of blossom as the season turns.

To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). Rate of Growth: Slow to moderate

Soil: Well-drained, moderately fertile, preferably acidic

Hardiness: Not fully hardy; needs a very sheltered, mild site or winter protection in Ireland
