Camellia jap. Black Lace

Camellia japonica ‘Black Lace’ is an elegant, evergreen camellia with glossy dark green foliage and striking deep red blooms in spring. Holder of the RHS Award of Garden Merit, it thrives in partial shade in a sheltered spot, ideally protected from early morning sun in late winter and spring. Plant in acidic, humus-rich, moisture-retentive but well-drained soil; prune lightly after flowering. Excellent as a specimen or in woodland-style and shaded borders, bringing refined colour and structure early in the season.
