Brunnera Looking Glass

Brunnera Looking Glass

Brunnera macrophylla ‘Looking Glass’ is a clump-forming, deciduous perennial prized for its frosted silver, heart-shaped leaves and clouds of small, forget-me-not blue flowers in spring. Best in partial shade with consistently moist but well-drained, humus-rich, moderately fertile soil, it brings long season foliage interest to woodland plantings, shaded borders and cottage-style schemes. Expect a compact mound to around 50cm high and wide in time; remove spent flower stems to keep plants tidy and mulch annually to maintain soil moisture. Fully hardy in Ireland.

To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
