Bergenia Dragonfly Sakura

Bergenia Dragonfly Sakura

Bergenia Dragonfly Sakura

Bergenia Dragonfly Sakura is a compact, evergreen clump-forming perennial valued for its glossy, rounded green leaves and abundant spring display. In early to mid-spring it bears neat clusters of pink flowers on short, sturdy stems above the foliage, providing reliable colour just as the garden wakes up. Ideal at the front of borders, for edging paths, and as groundcover under shrubs, it thrives in Irish gardens in sun or light shade and in moist but well-drained, moderately fertile soil. Tidy by removing spent flower stems and any weather-marked leaves, and divide congested clumps in spring to maintain vigour. Its spring blooms are useful to pollinators at a lean time of year, and established clumps will cope with drier, shaded spots.

To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
