Athyrium f.f. Victoriae

A refined, crested selection of lady fern, Athyrium f.f. Victoriae forms elegant, fresh green, finely divided fronds with distinctive crossed pinnae for a laced, architectural look. A clump-forming, deciduous fern for woodland borders, damp shade and streamside plantings, it thrives in partial to full shade and consistently moist, humus-rich, fertile soil (preferably neutral to acid). Fully hardy and easy to maintain—remove old fronds in late winter—this cultivar adds texture and structure to shaded beds, underplanting and Asian-inspired schemes while avoiding dry sites and hot midday sun.
