Armeria maritima Alba

Armeria maritima Alba

Armeria maritima Alba

Armeria maritima Alba is a compact, evergreen perennial forming neat tufts of grass-like green leaves, topped in late spring to early summer with rounded white flower heads on slender stems. Ideal for coastal gardens, rockeries and the front of sunny, well-drained borders in Ireland, it thrives in poor to moderately fertile, sandy or gravelly soils and is also suitable for edging and containers where drainage is sharp. Deadhead spent blooms to encourage further flowering and protect from winter wet by ensuring excellent drainage.

To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
