Aquilegia William Guiness

Aquilegia William Guiness

Aquilegia William Guiness

Aquilegia ‘William Guiness’ is a clump-forming, deciduous perennial valued for its striking bicolour blooms: rich purple outer sepals contrasted with clean white inner petals. Flowering in late spring to early summer, it’s ideal for mixed borders and cottage-style plantings, and can also be grown in containers. Best in moist but well-drained, moderately fertile soil, it performs in full sun to light shade and is fully hardy in Irish gardens. A good nectar source, it supports pollinating insects. Deadhead to prolong display or allow some seed to create naturalised drifts over time; remove unwanted seedlings to maintain colours.

To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
