AGAPANTHUS umbellatus Blue

AGAPANTHUS umbellatus Blue is a classic African lily forming clumps of strap-shaped green leaves topped in summer by rounded umbels of clear blue flowers on upright stems. Best in full sun and moderately fertile, moist but well-drained soil, it shines in sunny borders and containers, bringing a strong architectural accent. Blooming from midsummer into early autumn, plants typically reach around 1m in flower with a spread of about 50cm; deadhead after flowering and, in colder areas, provide winter protection or grow in containers that can be moved to shelter.
